The average home price in the Capital Region is $289,150. This varies greatly from different areas. Saratoga County has an average of $382,651. The city of Saratoga Springs is very affluent and brings up that average dramatically. Schenectady has the lowest average of $221,036. Capital Region Commute Times
Commute times vary in the Capital Region. The two major highways used are the Northway I-87 and I-787. If you live in Albany county commute times are typically not an issue. If you live north of Albany in Saratoga county commute times can be an issue at certain times of the day. Typical times to avoid are 8am-9am and 4:30pm to 5:30pm. If there is an accident on one of the major roads it will lead to major holdups. Otherwise it’s just bottlenecked during those times. The Capital Region has a vibrant nightlife scene. There is never a shortage of things to do from live music to performance art, stand up acts, and craft breweries. There is a scene for everyone.
